I am going to sit on the cruise post a bit longer. Things are really great right now - don't want to screw around with this mellow/happy mood.
The job @ Bubba's wasn't working out for multiple reasons. No need to spew...not my style to disclose every horrible detail and muddle the business's name in the process. Hey, the staff works their butts off to bring you good food. No harm in that. Unless you're the staff. (=P)
Anyways, got a new job - really great. My boss is not only hilarious, but also a wonderful person. Working on Antique Alley brings back fond memories from my childhood...Oh yes. Where you ask? Southern Ladies Tea Room. YES, I'm aware that it's ironic ... me working at a tea room and my sister at The Brandy House. I encourage all of you to call one of these "fyyyyyne" afternoons and make a reservation...if only to hear my "Suuthern Laydies Teyuh Roohm" voice. Learning to grit my teeth and ask "Would you like some more swaheet tea with that, mayum?" has been quite the feat. I hear from reliable sources that it's a laugh.
My car has been dead these past few weeks. Depending on my parents for rides to work has been unbelievably shitty. I was carless for WAY longer than I should have been...now I resume the carless position? I refuse. Hear that Alex? I REFUSE.
Speaking of that crackhead, tonight I saw Anchorman with him, Aaron, and Eric. Fun times, fun times...
...well, except for the movie. Upon completion of the hideous Will Ferrel concoction, Aaron turned to us and said, "Wow. I'm 3 hours older." Well put Aaron, well put.
Don't get me wrong, it had it's funny moments. But overall, Laura and Jane give it 2 thumbs down. Not one I'd dish out $18 for.
[deep thoughts]
On the way to and from the movie, I realized that I adore riding in the car at night. I haven't really a valid reason why. I always have. As a child, my favorite time was after it had just rained... and the droplets of water clung to the backseat window. Passing through the brightly lit city caused the droplets to vividly light up...reflecting the millions of colors. I absolutely loved it. It was my own personal fiber optics show.
For some odd reason, these memories flooded my brain on my way home. No, it had not freshly rained, I was not driving through a city with bright lights, nor was I sprawled out in the back seat. But something about the night made me remember.
...and it felt good.

So dad and I were in the car today, and he starts talking about "his old band"...
>HALT<
who failed to inform me that my dad played the keyboard in 2 different bands which got continuous gigs?? Aww...it was so cute. I thought my dad only played with the chemistry set.
