politics time!
ok...so blanco won.
"but laura! you above ALL people should want a FEMALE to be the governor of louisiana!"
yess...this is true...but intelligence should be factored in there somewhere.
Louisiana needed a governor who was not afraid to step up, say what needed to be said, appropriate money according to the needs of the La people, and be a hard-ass businessman who would, for lack of better words, "put this state back on the map"! When Blanco was Lt. Gov., did you know that her main platform was improving the state's parks? Granted, she did that...but she also stated in her personal biography that she hoped Louisiana would eventually be ranked among the 'top vacationing spots' along with Rome, Greece, London, Paris, ect.
"No, mommy...i dont want to go to Paris, i want to go to Alexandria!!"
i mean, GEEZ. kudos for the high aspirations, blanco...but lets not allow them to get carried away!
Anyone catch the little segment during the preliminaries on PBS that gave all the candidates a chance to express themselves through a little game? The one where they were given 100 one dollar bills, and told to "appropriate the money into pre-assigned categories according to the needs of the louisiana people"? Basically, it gave the voters a chance to see where each candidate would invest precious tax dollars. (such as education, or jobs) The larger stacks indicated that (s)he deemed the category to be more important. ANYWAYS, you get the picture.
heheh...it was FAR more insightful than ANY debate.
Ewing and Jindal seemed to be the only two who immediately (sans counting) placed large stacks of money on only a FEW "needs" and demonstrated that if one was prospering, consequently the others would be, also. (such as "education" - they justified putting colleges and jobs behind it; because if our children get a good education, and feel inclined to stay in the state to further that education, they will most likely look for jobs around the area...etc etc)
heheh...Leech put a little in each stack...leaving some "left overs". After promptly placing the "left overs" near himself, he declared, "the rest will stay right here!"
...he might as well have put them in his pocket.
heheh...Leech...sucking up all our moneyyyy....
[/jibe]
everyone else did what was to be expected (exactly what practically EVERY past gov. of louisiana has done). they handed out the money like a deck of cards...i mean, why allow one area to excel when we have to make everyone satisfied? Let's not do anything that would further our state.
I found Blanco to be the most indecisive. "well, that stack looks a little lower...thats not really what i wanted...hmmm...let me take some out of thiss oneee...and put a little hereee...and ummm...ok. well, no, thats not quite righttt..." (you get it) i watched that thinking, "GEEZ...a woman finally has a decent shot at this, and shes a bimbo."
Yes, she was probably the more cautious route to go...but comeon! maybe what louisiana needed was someone who would take some action!
FLiP ThE COiN!
ok...so i admit...it was a tad scary when Jindal began referring to himself in the third person during the preliminaries...
yes...he is a little young to be a governor...and...if you fattened him up, bleached him out, and slicked his hair back, he would appear to be a used cars salesman...
But at least he could intelligently speak!!! (and we all know that's a major issue with me)
ONE MORE THING...
here's a well-known fact!
Louisiana is INFESTED with morons.
I believe that ONE reason jindal lost, was unfortunately, due to his appearance. I'm pretty sure i'm on target when i express the mindset of the rednecks who haven't followed a second of the race: "Whahut the hayle is this??? we gots a woman and a foreigner to choose frum? well, all those foreigners have been a bombin' our hometown boys at war! i ain'ts gonna vote for him!"
[/redneck]
woohoo
ANYWAYS...what's done is done. Blanco won.
...Lets just hope she doesnt surround herself with stupid people.
